What I know so far
Some details about Slim Legs System:
-- if you already have a Slim Belly System, you won't have to purchase a whole new package. You'll only need the Slim Legs. The tubing from the Slim Belly connects perfectly to the Slim Legs pants.
-- they're not available for sale in the U.S. yet.
-- I don't know what they'll cost.
And another thing - I completely expect them to work. Because Slim Belly does. And if it didn't I sure as heck wouldn't be running down the street looking like the Florida Michelin Woman in 90 degree heat and about 1,000 percent humidity. Sure, people may laugh at me but that's never stopped me before. :)
So today's Sunday and here's my update so far.
Friday
I took my measurements on Friday morning. I measured at two places on my thighs, and I did my hips and belly too since the Slim Legs pants do cover a fair amount of the bottom and belly. Most days at work I spend my lunch hour walking (and talking) about three miles with some friends. Outside when it's nice and inside when it's too hot to walk and return to work without showering. (There's a bunch of huge buildings that are connected plus two tunnels, so one loop is about a mile. We do three.)
So this Friday I was meeting a friend to walk and was debating with myself about struggling into the Slim Legs -- maybe I should just use the Slim Belly instead? But no, I figured what the heck, so I grabbed the pants and yanked them on and . . . lo and behold . . . they went on pretty easily. I pulled my exercise skort on over them and off I went.
At this point I'd say that the Slim Belly System looks more conspicuous than it feels. I always told people -- it's looks heavy and more cumbersome than it feels when you're wearing it.
I think the Slim Legs FEEL more conspicuous than they look. They look like puffy-ish yoga pants. And the air channels aren't that large, so the puffyness is more of a feel than it is a look. And they're heavier than the Slim Belly belt, so when I run, I can feel the weight a little.
Saturday
I was going to my favorite workout of the week, a cardio class at Gainesville Health & Fitness that combines punching, kicking, stations and choreography -- and a lot of fun -- and I was worried that the weight and tightness of the Slim Legs would be too restrictive. So I wore my Slim Belly instead. As I write this, I am ashamed of myself though. So next Saturday I am gonna wear them!
Sunday
It was 10am when I finally left the house for a three-mile run and, being Florida in June, it was already too hot and humid for smart people to run. But I did. As I mentioned the Slim Legs material is pretty thick - thicker than anything I normally run in, even in the winter. So they were hot but definitely more comfortable than my first run in them last Thursday.
I wasn't as "aware" of them as I was the first time either but I could tell they warmed me up a lot. I like to do longer runs on Sundays but I don't think I'd try running longer than three in the heat, it might just be a bit too much. You never know, though, I am still getting used to them and I may change my mind.
Cutest thing about the Slim Legs? They have a little drawstring closure at the waistband. What for?? It's NOT like they're going to FALL off!

They're here! And I took them for a test run.
My Slim Legs finally arrived yesterday but I'd already worked out and it was a crazy night, so I didn't even try them on but tonight I needed to go for a run. I'd planned on doing some thigh-measuring before I ran in them but wanted to try them on first.
They weren't what I was expecting. The material is different than the Slim Belly belt. It's thick and stretchy, and fairly heavy too. They're like really thick, heavy, ribbed bike pants. And I've been thinking of them as only for the legs. But the tubing also covers up part of my bottom and belly -- a bonus. It's not just for your legs. Cool!
I'd been warned by Molly's friend, Des, that they were hard to stuff yourself into. Des received two advance pairs from Europe at Molly's request last week. She kept a pair and sent me the other one, so she's had her's for a week and shared some intel on them. Like that they're really hard to stuff yourself into at first but they do stretch out and get more comfortable. I sure HOPE SO!
It wasn't easy getting them on but, fortunately, I was in high school in the '80's so I know how to squeeze into a pair of pants that are eight sizes too tight. It was like riding a bike, the skill came right back. And once I had them on, I wasn't taking them off to measure my before-thighs so I headed out for an inaugural run.
I admit I felt a little like the Michelin Man from my waist to my knees. I put on a tank top and a swim skirt (to cover some of that stuff up), hooked my compressor unit thing up to the connectors in front of the pants, and strapped the belt that holds that around my waist. I walked into the kitchen and my husband gave me the same look he gave me when I first put on my Slim Belly about a year ago. Kinda like, "I love you too much to tell you how ridiculous you look."
And out I went. Three hot, sweaty miles for my test run. I'll measure in the morning and start counting from there.
Thanks, Molly! (I think.)

Waiting for my Slim Legs to arrive
Last week I received word that my Slim Legs were on their way in the mail. Like a kid at Christmas, I've been anxiously checking my mailbox every day since.
I first heard about the whole Slim Belly System in October 2012, from my long-time friend, Molly Napolitano. Molly and her husband, Frank, had learned about the product in Germany and were working with the manufacturers to make it available in the United States. It sounded too good to be true -- something that allows you to target your cardio workout to a certain problem area in your body? You mean, like I can get my body to focus my efforts toward burning belly fat? Ya, right. But I was certainly interested and begged Molly to get me a Slim Belly as soon as they were available.
You can learn more about the product and how/why it works here -- they explain it better than I can. But I what I can tell you is that it does work, as improbable as it may sound. The results speak for themselves. If you're curious about Slim Belly you can take a look at the Slim Belly Blog I did during summer 2013 for a month after I received my Slim Belly. It includes info on what I did while wearing Slim Belly and how it worked for me. And it includes my before and after pictures. Which, I swear, aren't doctored in any way. (It was summer, so my belly did get tan during the month.) Molly tried to post them on the Slim Belly System Facebook page but Facebook claimed they were Photoshopped. They're not but it made me proud that Facebook thought they were!
So anyhow -- today I wait for my Slim Legs to appear in the mail. They're not available for sale in the U.S. yet so I feel pretty dang special, getting an advance pair. I promised Molly I'd blog about them, to share what I learn about using them and especially about my results.
I will be honest about all of it -- that's a promise.
P.S. My Slim Legs did NOT arrive today. :(
